Last and favorite picture from #Oahu #adventures with @aronjamesphotography .... a #cactus on top of a #mountain?!? Only cacti I saw throughout the entire #island...something to add some spunkiness to your day!
Remember to #hang #loose 🤙😎🙌
Came across a disturbing statistic earlier today: surveys show that most children will spend more time watching television before entering school than listening to their fathers during their entire lifetimes. Besides the obvious problem within the family unit, this represents a horrific exodus from the world and an addition to isolation. Even viewing this post of a pretty #sunset in #Diamond #Head #Beach #Park from #Honolulu #Hawaii isn't good enough...we have to get off our butts and actually experience the #world! Make the most of the time you have! No one is promised a long life...you only have this one shot to accomplish what you #dream of accomplishing. Go out and experience the world around you!
Feeling #tropical today, reminiscent of #Oahu and the #North #Shore. I don't actually remember where this one was from...just that it was one of the #coastal scenes Hawaii provides in abundance!
Remember to do something for the first time this week. Don't get stuck in a rut 🤙
Caught the last of the #sunlight reflecting off the rocks from the #shore at #Diamomd #Head #Beach #Park a few nights ago...the #sailboats in the background competed the #beach scene so well 😍. The only thing that could make this better would be if the exposure were longer to blur the water...if I had some kind of ND filter? I challenge myself only to use #mobilephotography on my Instagram profile...currently with the Samsung Note 9.
Anyone have any ideas for companies I could look into for camera accessories with the Samsung Note 9?
The start of the #Koko #Head #Hiking #Trail from earlier this #morning!
Featuring tracks used to transport supplies during WW II via tram car, the site has been used by the Hawaii Air National Guard, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the Air Force. In 1966 it was passed over to the City of Honolulu and has since been used and known as the Koko Head Regional Park. 1,048 steps elevate you 990ft to a total of 1,208ft above sea level! Fantastic, unique hike for those craving #adventure! Definitely one to remember.
Where are your favorite hikes located?
A #storm approaches the #Makapu'u #Point #Lighthouse #Trail.
This picture made me think of the storms that approach us in life, that you never appreciate the drama of the storm without the light that offers definition to the clouds. Within every dark moment, there is always hope. There's a season for everything, and we will all go through darker moments in our life. Hold on to the light in your life, hold onto your faith and hope. The storms always look more dramatic with the light. Consequently, the light always seems brighter after the storm.
Keep your #aloha spirit through every season 🤙
Today's postcard picture from #Honolulu! Punchbowl National Memorial Cemetary has one of the best views of the Honolulu #citylandscape...#DiamondHead in the background! City on one side of the island, #mountains and spectacular views on the other...what more could you ask for?
#Waikikibeach was stunning last night...few people and the #sunset sky over the #citylandscape made it all glow. Not bad for a first #evening on the #beach!
#Honolulu vibes with @aronjamesphotography
One last #urbanex post while the landscape is still bleak and the weather is still dreary. #Abandoned #hallways are always my favorite sight in settings like this...was an awesome time exploring with @aronjamesphotography, @mattatkins2397
Pictures coming later this week from somewhere a little bit brighter and greener!
What to take pictures of in #winter when the landscape doesn't look as pretty? How about some #urbanex photography when the winter #fog and dead trees just make everything look more #haunted?
This is from a photo shoot of #Dejarnette #Asylum in #Staunton #Virginia with @aronjamesphotography
2018 New England Trip #4 of 4!
Except for the photo off of the Beehive Trail, all of the #Maine tour was overcast. Not the greatest for overlooks or vista shots, overcast conditions nevertheless made for great pictures of streams and of the #coastline. Maine has a unique coastline...and the rocks looked perfect with the mood cast by the sky.
One of my favorite sights from #Acadia #National #Park by far!
2018 New England Trip #3 of 4!
This was the only instance of direct sunlight we had throughout our entire stay in #Acadia #National #Park. Every other #mountain was obscured with fog at the top, or it was overcast and all the colors were muted.
Nevertheless, the sunlight made this overlook spectacular! This is taken from the #Beehive #Trail, and encompasses everything I love about Acadia: #autumn colors, #coastlines, blue ocean...what more could you want?
